Vibrant mother of two Clare Masolin of Wangara has always been the primary carer for her son Michael, now aged 20. Her dedicated efforts were recognised by her peers and friends when she was nominated and won a State award in the 2014 inaugural National Carer Awards.

Judy Pattel's determination and drive have kept her focussed as the full-time carer for her daughter Tania over the past 24 years since she was involved in a diving block accident in 1991 at the age of just 17.

For more than 30 years Jim has cared for his wife, Pat, who lives with multiple sclerosis. He delights in supporting Pat's access to social engagement and community outings. All of his energy is directed to ensuring that his wife has the best possible quality of life.
